Once a local primary school, then a Free Presbyterian church, the Auld Mission Cottage stands in an elevated position with spectacular views of Loch Bay and over the Minch to the Outer Isles.
Recently renovated but with much of its original stonework maintained, the Auld Mission Cottage has been modernised to a high standard and comfortably furnished. Apart from a few steps to the car parking area, the accommodation is all on one level and comprises of two bedrooms (one double and one twin), bathroom with electric shower, open plan kitchen and lounge/diner with a multi-fuel stove. A small seating area and picnic table at the front of the cottage provides an opportunity to enjoy the wonderful sunsets.
The Waternish peninsula is one of the four Norse divisions of Skye on the North West side of the island. The Auld Mission Cottage is situated about a mile from the picturesque fishing village of Stein, which has the oldest Inn on Skye (Stein Inn) and the Michelin starred Lochbay Restaurant, a craft shop and gallery, and a slipway. Lusta provides a good base from which to explore the Island of Skye. The nearest shops to Lusta are at Dunvegan which is about three miles to the west , and Portree, the administrative centre of Skye, is about twenty miles to the south
Why not take a look at our other self catering property Auld Orwell Cottage just 1 mile from the Auld Mission Cottage.
